About Holly
Meet Holly, a creative mermaid who lives in a pink cottage on a cliff by the sea. Holly and the Pink Cottage is a paper doll and colouring book by Briana Corr Scott featuring a Black mermaid character with a love for painting and seaside life. The book includes one cardstock paper doll, three pages of outfits to colour and cut, and four beautifully illustrated rooms to decorate. Inspiration
Briana is inspired by paper dolls AND dollhouses. In this book , she decided to combine these two fascinations after learning about scrapbooks victorian children would make (see image below) . They would cut out pieces of furniture and paste them in a scrapbook to build paper rooms for their dolls. This book is Briana's version!
Colour in the clothing, cut out, and use the tabs to hang the clothes on your dolls.
Use the pocket int he back (looks like a dresser or cabinet!) to store loose parts like clothing and the doll.
Colour in the detailed rooms and use them as a "dollhouse" for your paper doll.
Because paper doll kits are a cutting activity, this book is recommend for people 6 years old and up. Cutting assistance may be required.
